My work focuses on documenting my family and friends in Westchester, New York. The backdrop of these pictures are in locations from where my childhood memories live and the pastoral nature of this area of America. My need to photograph operates through an existential perspective on my narrative and the narrative of those around me.

Sydney Herod is a documentary photographer located in Westchester, New York, which is also her hometown. She has found a great deal of inspiration from this area where she photographs subjects that makes up what she calls home. Sydney utilizes multiple exposures in her images to create a surreal and chaotic representation of her perception of the world. She working primarily in film, such as 35mm or 120. Sydney will hold a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design in May 2021.
